Peacock

Corpuscles early in the disease become crenated contain numerous granules of pigment. They look badly or not at all into rouleaux. All over the field can be seen broken down corpuscles or badly or incompletely formed corpuscles and all showing more or less crenation. The white corpuscles are neither increased nor diminished in number, their outlines are clear & sometimes they also contain granules of pigment or what at present looks like granules of pigment. The Haemoglobin is rapidly diminished in quantity coming down to 50% & down until in some cases it is 10-15% by the haemoglobinometer. Cultivations and other Experiments on the blood are in progress, so that at present I consider that it is inadvisable to say more on this subject (Causes etc.). In the newspaper cutting will be seen my first note on this subject. These are not materially changed. I believe that Infection or contagion is present to a certain degree. I am of opinion that the disease was introduced here...
